Seattle to Spokane

It's weird starting a new chapter in life, but it's exciting and scary too. This was from my trip halfway to Montana, stopping in Spokane for the night. Make sure to check out the vlog too.

Iceland Day 9 & 10

I decided to combine these two days, as I lost quite a bit of Day 9's photos to make one post of them. But the final two days in Iceland were filled with joy and sadness, as we were about to be done with the greatest trip of our lives. We drove around deep on some roads we randomly found, and ending the day driving with some friends (check the vlog, lost the photos). The final day was spent returning to out favorite area of Iceland, Southeast. We drove a new road there and ended up at the foot of a glacier, then went back around and ending our final day camping on the beach.

The best trip of our lives had come to a close. We were filled with joy and nostalgia as we talked and reflected on the entire journey. We are hoping to return here one day and spend much longer than just 10 days.

Iceland Day 8

Sonora and I talked and we decided to skip most of West Iceland and take Gary the Defender on roads more, as that's what we enjoyed most. We started in Látrabjarg then headed south on a long drive, stopped to feed some horses, went to the wrong place (check the vlog) and eventually ending the day at Haifoss waterfall. Another long driving day.

Iceland Day 7

We woke up off a random pull out near a town. We filled up on Gas and headed deeper into the West Fjords. It was great lighting all day as we saw endless views and being surrounded by towering green hills. We rounded one corner and saw the biggest waterfall we've ever seen, Dynjandi; it took up the entire cliff face - it was insane and pictures do it no justice. We continued driving and then stumbled on a bucket-list location for me, this little a-frame cabin with a perfect view. Years ago I'd seen Chris Burkard post a photo of it, and I made it a point to one day make it there. Rounding the corner and seeing it in person was one of the most incredible feelings. We then headed west more into Látrabjarg and stopped there for the night, but of course I had to crash my drone and Iceland had to show off with an insane sunset above the clouds before we headed off to bed. Typical.

Iceland Day 6

After a long day of driving through North Iceland, Sonora and I finally reached the West Fjords. We had been looking forward to this are all trip as we had heard so many great things. Right from the beginning it didn't disappoint. We stumbled upon a random little shack (which we learned was open for travelers), we took a random side road that lead to choppy roads cutting through enormous open landscapes. But of course Iceland couldn't end there, as we rounded a corner finding a privately owned hot spring, which we were the until about midnight. One of the best days ever.

Iceland Day 5

Today was another big driving day and very rough lighting in the day, though we ended it in what we called the bootleg version of the Blue Lagoon, but it may be better do to half the price and less crowds. It was awesome, though unfortunately due to hard drive failures I've lost a good chunk of photos from this day. I hope to recover the rest and share them one day.

Iceland Day 4

This was mostly a driving day, though we got to see the incredible Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, a random lake up this road, and ended it at the most incredible AirBnb I think we'll ever stay at.

Iceland Day 3

This was one of our favorite days in Iceland. We woke up atop a mountain viewing over all of South Iceland, went to the biggest waterfall we'd ever seen, found a picnic cave and two regular ones, a small cabin community in the mountains, puffins, and the most incredible sunset ever.

Iceland Day 2

We left our AirBnb and went north. From aesthetic church buildings, teal blue water, and mountain hot springs, we saw it all. Again it blew out minds at every turn. We ended the day in the well known Seljavallalaug, then driving up to the top of a random road over-looking a lot of South Iceland.

Colchuck Lake

Tina and I took a hike up to Colchuck Lake, one of the more amazing alpine lakes in Washington. We nailed it on timing as well because conditions were incredible. I also vlogged and showed how I edited the photos too, check those videos out below.
